Rat Rods
all right if done right
Ok, I'm all for the Rat Rods. In fact I think they are some of the best cars I have seen. However, if you started out restoring an old car and ran out of money or ambition then decided to call it a "rat rod", you missed the point. Do it right or don't do it at all. Go to car shows and look at the good ones, join car clubs and learn about true Rat Rods.
Flat Paint Jobs
protect your ride
Again, I'm cool with the flat look but leaving a car in primer or paint with no clear to me is just silly. The benefit of a clear coat for UV protection is necessary to keep your car looking good for a long time. For those who don't know, they make a flat clear coat... use it!
Time
i need more, doesn't everybody?
Where does it go to and why do we never have enough of it? It seems like we have several projects in various states of completion but no time to get them done. Well, I am going to do my best to finish as many as possible this year. Wish me luck!
Hospital visits
i do all my own stunts!
So, I have my own parking space at the ER and the nurses know me well and my wife knows the exact amount of my life insurance at any given time. We all manage to hurt ourselves from time to time working on cars but lately I seem to be getting more accident prone. The other day I was swinging a sledge hammer (Ford adjustment tool) and while I hit what I wanted I did manage to smash my fingers into another part of the car at the same time.... thought I broke one. A few days later I lowered the weight of a 61 GMC cab down onto my waiting hand.... came within a sliver of breaking 2 fingers on my left hand, they went numb for 15 minutes. All this cant be cuz I'm getting older could it?
