We usted studs to hold the panel tight during the welding process. Welding these takes patience, spot weld back and forth across the entire panel to minumize warping.
Next we ground down the seam and filled in the area.
Low on the cowl area there was some bads spots that needed replacing.
They do not make patches for this so again, just a bit of bending and cutting.
There are 2 layers that had rotted out so we did them one at a time.
More of the same.
Finished and primed.
Now back to the trunk, we cut the corner round and welded the edge. Then ground down to fit.
The left side of the lower trunk lid had rust holes and a section had to be replaced.
After cutting away the area we did POR the rust.
New patch cut and welded in.
Here is some floor rot that needed to be fixed.
A brace was drilled out and removed, then two layers of metal were cut away.
I used a thicker metal for the patch as this area needs good support.
Finished and primed.
Another patch on the floor, this was the last bad spot.
The lower fenders needed patching as well, easy fix.
I made the patch to fit before removing the bad area.
